Enter the last four digits of the 13 digit barcode number and the pack time code on the back of the promotional wrapper plus your email address, full name, house name or number including post code, and follow the instructions (ROI entrants will be required to enter their street name and town instead of a postcode).

Each day's online prizes have been pre-allocated and linked to "lucky winning moments", which have been randomly pre-selected via a secure, independently verified programme. If you match these times, or are the next nearest entry following any of those times, you will be a winner.

Must I purchase a promotional pack to enter?

Yes, unless you live in NI where there is also a no purchase necessary route. The no purchase necessary route is not open to residents in the mainland UK or ROI.

I live in Northern Ireland and would like to enter via the no purchase necessary

I don't have access to a PC how do I enter?

Postal Entrants and those without internet access send your McVitie's promotional pack(s) with your name, full postal address including postcode, phone number and date of birth clearly handwritten and legible in block capitals on a plain piece of paper. Your entry will then be entered into the entry system at a random time within one week after receipt. Only one entry per properly stamped envelope. What are the prizes?

There are 86 prizes to be won for each of the 84 days in the main promotional period. Major prizes: 2 x iPod Nanos, 2 x DSi and game packs, 2 x e-Book readers. Other Prizes: 80 x free McVitie's biscuit coupons. Over the whole promotional period (including the Final Special Prize draw) there will be: 170 x iPod Nanos, 170 x DSi and game packs, 170 x e-Book readers and 6,800 x free McVitie's biscuit coupons.

What is the Wrap-Up Prize draw?

As our products have a longer shelf life than most there is a possibility that a consumer will purchase a pack after the daily promotion. Entries received after 23/05/2010 but by midnight on 30/09/2010 (closing date) will be entered into one final prize draw with 86 additional prizes to be won: 2 x iPod Nanos, 2 x DSi and game packs, 2 x e-Book readers. Other Prizes: 80 x free McVitie's biscuit coupons.

When is the closing date for the Wrap-Up Prize draw?

The Wrap-Up prize draw closing date is midnight 30th September 2010. Winners of this draw will be notified within 28 days of the closing date.

How many times can I enter?

In order to provide a fair promotion for as many consumers as possible the following restrictions will be rigidly applied:

Maximum of 5 entries per person per day and the same 4 digit barcode and time code combination can be used a maximum of 5 times during the entire promotion period.

No entrant may use their computer to enable multiple entries. In such an event that person's entry/entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void.

The twin pack gives one bonus entry. The bonus entry will not be included in your maximum allowance of 5 entries per person per day. Bonus entries must be claimed on same date as bonus notification. The bonus entry will only be offered after you have entered your twin pack code combination for the first time.

If your twin pack has been sent to our handling house to enter on your behalf then your code will be entered 6 times in succession by the handling house.

How will I know if I'm a winner?

All winners will be informed instantly via a pop up screen if they have won. An email will be sent at the same time to these winners containing details as to how to claim the prize. If any winner cannot be contacted within 28 days from first attempting to do so, or after initial contact does not send in the appropriate details for validation, or does not meet the verification criteria then the promoter reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and re-draw their prize.

How can I claim my prize?

Major prize winners (iPod Nano's, DSi's and ebooks) only are recommended to send in their winning pack by Recorded Delivery as the Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for claims which are lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

Major prizes will only be dispatched upon verification of identity and packs. All prizes will only be dispatched to the address provided at time of registration.

Major prize winners must respond to winner notification within 28 days by sending in their winning pack, a print out of their winner notification email (ensuring their name, unique reference number, house name/number, postcode are clearly legible) together with their proof of ID to:

What is proof of ID?

Proof of ID constitutes: a photocopy of a utility bill, council tax bill, mobile phone bill or drivers license. It must clearly show the same name and address that were submitted as part of the online promotion entry.

How many times can I win?

Only 3 major prizes and 5 biscuit coupons can be won per household during the promotional period. A major prize constitutes either: 1 x iPod Nano, 1 x e-Book reader or 1 x DSi and game pack.

Only 1 prize may be redeemed per winning pack.

Consumers who try to claim a major prize by sending in a promotional pack for verification that has a different barcode and time code to that submitted at time of entry will have their major prize claim disqualified.

If you are in possession of more than 5 packs that contain the same bar code and time code combination contact the consumer services line for more information.

I've won more than one prize. May I send more than one winning pack in one envelope to claim my prizes?

No. Only one entry per properly stamped envelope will be accepted.

My code is not recognised

Make sure you are entering the last 4 digits of the 13 digit barcode number and the pack time code on the back of the promotional wrapper.

If this still does not work please call our Customer Care line (For England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on: 0500 011710 and for ROI: 1800 409317) who will attempt to see if there is a fault. If we are not experiencing any problems with the website and you have a correct code, we would advise you to send your pack to our handling house who will enter on your behalf.

I can't seem to enter online

Possible solutions:

Try entering from another PC, as there may be a problem with your PC.

Make sure you are entering the correct last 4 digits of the 13 digit barcode number and the pack time code on the back of the promotional wrapper.

I don't have Flash installed on my computer – can I still enter the promotion?

Yes. There are HTML alternative competition pages to allow you to enter if you don't have flash. However you won't be able to see any of the other material on the website without Flash installed.

I don't have a code on my promotional pack can I still enter?

The postcode I entered online is different to the address I would like the prize to be sent to. Can I still claim my prize?

For security reasons we will only send prizes to the name and address entered online. Any photocopy of a utility bill, council tax bill, mobile phone bill or drivers license sent in as part of prize verification process must clearly show the same name and address that were submitted as part of the online promotion entry.

I've just won a major prize! How quickly do I need to claim my prize?

I have received an email informing me that my prize claim is invalid. Why is this?

If any winner cannot be contacted after reasonable efforts within 28 days from first attempting to do so, or after initial contact does not send in the appropriate details for verification within 28 days, or does not meet the verification criteria then the promoter reserves the right to disqualify the entrant and withdraw the prize entitlement.

Should the Promoter have any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, or the spirit of the Promotion, the Promoter may at its sole discretion refuse to process a win claim. The Promoter will be the final arbiter in any decisions and these will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person who in their opinion corrupts or affects the proper conduct of the promotion, attempts to damage the website or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the promotion. If such activity is suspected the Promoter will delete the offending entries and compensation or prosecution will be sought through the law.

Any entrant attempting to exceed their daily entrance allowance either manually or by using their computer to enable multiple entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void. For instance this includes any attempts made by an entrant to change their contact details in order to exceed more than the allowable 5 entries per person per day will result in disqualification.

My prize is faulty. What can I do?

If the item received is damaged, please contact us within 2 days of receipt. We will then arrange for collection of the damaged item.

After this time however:

Faulty DSis - customer can contact Nintendo direct – customer can contact Nintendo direct, all the relevant warranty info will be in the box.

Faulty iPods can come back to supplier or the customer can contact apple on 0870 876 0753.

Faulty Sony e-Book Reader – customers can call 0870 5111 999 to sort out any warranty issues.

Anything faulty within 28 days can come back direct to prize supplier.

I have won a free biscuit coupon. What should I do?

If you have won a biscuit coupon you will receive an email which will contain a unique link through which you will be lead to another site to download software called 'Coupon Printer'.

I do not have a colour printer, can I print my coupon in black and white?

Yes you are able to print the coupon in black and white however we would recommend your print the coupon in colour.

I do not have a printer attached to my computer, how can I get my coupon?

What is the Coupon Printer?

To print a coupon you will need to install a programme called Coupon Printer onto your computer. The Coupon Printer ensures your coupon is printed securely and that the barcodes scan in store. It is a free safe and simple program that is 100% guaranteed not to harm your computer. The Coupon Printer is endorsed by Microsoft and Version.

I believe I have the right programmes on my computer to be able to install the Coupon Printer but it still won't install properly. Why can't I install the Coupon Printer?

If you are experiencing problems installing the Coupon Printer there may be a few reasons for this:

  1. You may not have permission to download programmes on your computer or you are using software that blocks the installation.

    If you are trying to print coupons at work or from a computer at a library, internet cafe or university, you may not have permission to download and install programs onto the computer you are using. This may be true even if you've downloaded and installed other programs. Please contact the person in charge of IT in the place where you are using the computer and ask them for more information. If you have a home computer, you may find it easier to access our coupons there.

  2. There may be programs already on your computer that are preventing installation of the Coupon Printer software.

    Please temporarily turn off any anti-virus software, anti-spyware or adware software. Couponstar has attempted to work with most of the major publishers of such software to ensure that the Coupon Printer is not blocked, however there may be programs that block the installation, or put up a warning that you are about to install a program. If these messages pop up please choose to allow the installation. Please note, after you have installed the software please turn your anti-virus software back on.

  3. The security settings in your computer are set too high.

    If you receive warnings or errors that an attempt to install an ActiveX control (Internet Explorer) or a plugin was blocked, or you are asked for permission to install a program, you may need to change your computers security settings to allow installation of the compound printer. Also, make sure you click the buttons in any pop up boxes that appear to allow the installation. Please note after you have installed the software please re-adjust your security settings to how they were before you installed the software.

How do I uninstall the Coupon Printer?

The Coupon Printer is quick and easy to uninstall should you choose to. For most PC's the easiest way to remove the Coupon Printer is as follows:

Can I redeem my coupon at online supermarkets such as Sainsburys.co.uk or Tesco.co.uk?

No, the coupon can only be redeemed in-store.

Who are Couponstar?

Couponstar are an online coupon provider that McVitie's have partnered with. Couponstar ensure all McVitie's Free biscuitl coupons are safe to download and print off and provide the software that enables consumers to do this. Couponstar coupons are accepted in all major retailers.

How long is the coupon valid for?

The coupon is valid for 14 days from the date that it is printed. If the coupon is posted to you the coupon will be valid 14 days from the day you requested it.

My retailer will not accept my coupon, what do I do now?

It is the policy of the major retailers to accept securely printed coupons and all major supermarkets are used to accepting Couponstar coupons. However in the instance that the retailer does not accept your coupon please call the McVitie's customer careline on UK and NI: 0500 011710, ROI 1800 409317 between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.They will arrange for the retailer to be contacted in order to confirm the coupon is authentic. They will also send you a letter of authenticity to show to the store.
